REIG JOFRE strengthens its hospital anti-infectives portfolio with the launch of dalbavancin in Europe

Dalbavancin is a prescription-only injectable antibiotic for hospital use indicated for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections in adults.
Dalbavancin joins REIG JOFRE’s hospital portfolio within the anti-infectives therapeutic area. The medicine is manufactured at the company’s Barcelona facility and marketed both through its affiliates and under licensing agreements, with a presence in nine European countries.
According to internal data for the first three months of commercialization, the treatment has shown progressive uptake across the European hospital setting, with nearly 20,000 vials made available to hospitals.
REIG JOFRE has made the treatment available from the start of the launch through its affiliates in the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Poland and Sweden, with the United Kingdom as the leading market at this initial stage. The treatment is also available in other European countries through commercial agreements.
In the United Kingdom, REIG JOFRE has been one of the first companies to record sales alongside the originator medicine, a development that reinforces the company’s ability to compete in highly regulated and specialized European markets.
The addition of this injectable antibiotic contributes to expanding REIG JOFRE’s international hospital business in the anti-infectives area.
